Blowin’

Man, the second week of November is like prime time to be surf fishing the Carolina coast.  But Mother Nature always has the potential to deal a wild card and this past week would have SUCKED – the remains of Hurricane Ida joined forces with an offshore low to kick up a wicked Nor’easter that’s been blowing and drenching nearly the entire week. This one has a ton of energy that will reshape the beaches (the beaches that are left that is) and stir up all kinds of stuff.  It will be very interesting to see how it affects the fishing once the seas settle down.  At the Outer Banks, it will be a few more days before the surf is even fishable let alone calm and clear.  The southeastern surf seems to be much calmer – fishable, but muddy.
